[Reminder] Prohibition of Feeding Stray Dogs on Campus

1、To ensure the cleanliness of the campus environment and safeguard the health and safety of our faculty, staff, and students, please comply with the regulations prohibiting the feeding or interaction with stray dogs and wild animals on campus. This measure aims to reduce the gathering of stray dogs on campus, prevent safety issues such as attacks and chases by the dogs, and mitigate the spread of diseases, thereby maintaining a good campus environment.

2、Currently, the only dog allowed on campus is "Sister," the school dog from the Department of Education, who is active within the campus. All other school dogs are housed in the Aowu Shelter. Therefore, any other dogs on campus are stray dogs.

3、Students, please be alert when encountering stray dogs and follow these precautions:

(1)If you encounter a stray dog on campus, do not engage in play or feeding, and strictly follow the regulation prohibiting the feeding of stray dogs. This helps prevent strays from continuing to enter the campus. Also, please refrain from abandonment to avoid worsening the stray dog issue.

(2)In case of a stray dog barking aggressively, here are the recommended responses:
(A) When riding a scooter:** Do not look at or engage with the dog. Maintain a steady speed and leave the area without accelerating to avoid potential danger.
(B) When riding a bicycle:** If the dog is at a distance, maintain your speed and leave. If you are close to the dog, slow down, dismount, and use the bicycle to create a barrier between the dog and yourself. Calmly and slowly walk the bike away, and continue riding once you've moved to a safe distance.
(C) When walking:Avoid facing the dog, do not make eye contact, and refrain from running or shouting. Stay calm, slowly back away, and once you've reached a safe distance and the barking decreases, you may turn and walk away. If the dog suddenly charges at you, use any available object to defend yourself. If defense is not possible, crouch down, protect your head with your arms, and remain as quiet as possible.

3. If you find signs of stray dogs on campus, please report to the following units:
(1) During office hours:** Environmental Protection Group of the General Affairs Office, Tel: 03-8906393.
(2) 24-hour emergency line:** Campus Security Police, Tel: 03-8906119.

We kindly ask everyone to cooperate with these measures. Thank you for your support and compliance.
